Biography

Gene Lockhart has served as Chair of Thredd since 2022. He is Chairman Emeritus, Co-Founder and General Partner of MissionOG, a growth equity firm focused on financial services, payments, and data platforms, and currently serves as an Operating Partner at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a leading private equity firm focused on financial services and technology industry.

Previously, Mr. Lockhart served as President and CEO of MasterCard International, CEO of Midland Bank PLC (now HSBC UK), and President of the Global Retail Bank at BankAmerica Corporation. Over the course of his career, he has served on numerous public company boards.

Mr. Lockhart earned a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School.

Biography

Jeff Paduch joined Advent in 2002 and is a Managing Partner. He moved to the London office in 2005 and recently returned to the Boston office in 2023. Jeff advises on investments in the technology and business & financial services sectors. He has advised on 30 investments during his career at Advent.

Prior to joining Advent, Jeff worked in the Financial Sponsors / Leveraged Finance Group of UBS Warburg in New York.

Jeff received a BA, cum laude, from the University of Virginia.

Biography

Peter James joined Advent in 2020 and is a Director in London. He advises on buyout and growth investments in the business & financial services and financial technology sectors. Peter has advised on 13 investments during his career, four while at Advent.

Prior to joining Advent, Peter worked on buyout and growth investing at TPG in London and San Francisco. He began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch.

Peter earned a master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris with a concentration in Finance & Strategy and a BSc, with honors, in International Management and Modern Languages from the University of Bath.

Biography

Ms. McCreary, a seasoned payments executive and attorney, joined Thredd’s board in 2022, and currently serves as the Chair of the firm’s Risk Committee.She has extensive knowledge of the financial services and technology industries, enterprise risk management and governance.

Ms. McCreary currently serves as Chief Legal Officer of InvestCloud, Inc., a global leader in wealth management technology, and previously served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at SportradarAG, a Swiss based multinational data and technology company serving the sports, betting, gaming and media industries worldwide.

Previously, she was the Chief Legal Officer at Fiserv, Inc., serving that company for over a decade, and, prior to that, was a partner with Bryan Cave LLP, and international law firm, where she was managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office and represented commerical, retail, financial services companies’ interests.

Ms. McCreary earned a bachelor’s degree from Western New England College and a Juris Doctorate, with distinction, from Washburn University School of Law.

Biography

Shane is currently the CEO of Coda, a Singapore based fintech providing digital distribution and monetisation services. He has had a 20+ year career in payments and e-commerce across four continents including executive roles at Worldpay and Mollie BV.

He is an avid investor and advisor in the technology space, and is also a board member of Nomupay and Velocity.

With over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, serving as a CTO, Board Member, and Technical Advisor, Matt has contributed to product and technical transformations across innovative global e-commerce and fintech companies like Amazon, Expedia, Booking, and Nubank.

As a Board Member at Thredd, he leads the Tech Committee, driving innovation in digital payments and global expansion.

His expertise in financial operations, site reliability engineering, and executive coaching enables him to support organizations in achieving their growth and operational goals.
Paulette Rowe

Biography

Paulette Rowe is a highly regarded global leader in the fintech and financial services sectors, bringing three decades of high-impact leadership at institutions including Meta, GE Capital, NatWest/RBS, and Barclays.

Renowned for her visionary approach to digital transformation, Paulette pioneered landmark initiatives such as the contactless payment infrastructure for London’s transit system.

Most recently, as CEO of the U.S. fintech unicorn Stax, she led the company’s evolution into a full-stack processor delivering significant uplift in margin and EBITDA and earning her the 2025 Stevie Silver Award for Women in Business.

Beyond her executive roles, Paulette is a seasoned board professional, having served as a Non-Executive Director and subcommittee chair for FTSE-100 United Utilities and as Chair of The Mayor’s Fund for London.

She has been consistently recognized as one of the most influential women in payments and has twice been named in the UK “Powerlist“ of the top 10 most influential people of African or Caribbean heritage.

Paulette holds an MEng from Birmingham University and an MBA from INSEAD.
